Thermostat — removal and installation (Discovery 1)

1. Place a container under the upper radiator hose connector to collect the fluid.

2. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the engine.

3. Release the bypass hose from the clip.

4. Release the upper radiator hose from the clip.

5. Remove the upper hose from the radiator.



6. Remove the clamp securing the thermostat to the hose.



7. Lubricate the hose and remove the thermostat.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order. To make installation of the thermostat easier, lubricate the inside surface of the hose with a soap solution.
