Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Relieve the pressure in the cooling system by unscrewing and screwing the expansion tank cap back on.
CAUTION: Do not remove the cap while the engine is hot to avoid being burned by steam or coolant.
3. Place a rag under the sensor to absorb the coolant.

4. Disconnect the connector from the thermostat sensor.
5. Release the sensor and remove it. Discard the gasket.
Installation
1. Clean the sensor and mating surfaces.
2. Install the sensor with a new gasket and secure it.
3. Connect the connector to the sensor.
4. Remove the previously laid out rags.
5. Make sure there are no leaks and add fluid to the tank up to the "MAX" mark.
6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
