Ignition coil right cylinder head: up to May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.

ENGINE KV6 - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Soundproofing engine casing.

3. Release the latch and disconnect the connector from the ignition coil.

4. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the ignition coil to the right valve cover.

5. Loosen and remove the ignition coil from the spark plug.

Installation

1. Install the ignition coil onto the spark plug.

2. Screw in the ignition coil mounting bolts to the right valve cover and tighten them to a torque of 9 Nm.

3. Connect the connector to the ignition coil and secure the connector with the retainer.

4. Install the engine soundproofing cover in place.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
