Ignition coil left cylinder head: after May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.

3. Remove the ignition coil connector retainer and disconnect the connector from the coil.

4. Unscrew the bolt securing the ignition coil to the valve cover.

5. Remove the ignition coil from the valve cover.

Installation

1. Lubricate the lower seal of the reel with rubber lubricant.

2. Install the ignition coil on the valve cover, screw in the mounting bolt and tighten it to 5 Nm.

3. Attach the connector to the coil and secure it.

4. Reinstall the engine soundproofing cover.
