Ignition coil left cylinder head: up to May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.

ENGINE KV6 - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Soundproofing engine casing.

3. Disconnect the high voltage wire from the ignition coil.

4. Release the latch and disconnect the connector from the ignition coil.

5. Unscrew the nut, remove the ground wire, unscrew the bolt securing the ignition coil to the left intake manifold and remove the coil.

Installation

1. Install the ignition coil and ground wire on the left intake manifold, tighten the nut, screw in the bolt and tighten them to 9 Nm.

2. Connect the connector to the ignition coil and secure the connector with the retainer.

3. Connect the high voltage wire to the ignition coil.

4. Reinstall the engine soundproofing cover.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
