Throttle Position Sensor: Before May 2003 (Freelander 1)

North American Market Countries: Until May 2003.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



2. Unscrew the 2 nuts and remove the gas pedal from the studs.

3. Release the gas pedal position sensor connector from the bracket and disconnect it from the main harness.



4. Unscrew the nut and disconnect the rod from the sensor.

5. Unscrew the 2 nuts and bolts and remove the sensor.

Installation

1. Install the position sensor and tighten the nuts and bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.

2. Keeping the gas pedal close, install the rod onto the sensor and tighten the nut to 10 Nm.

3. Install the gas pedal, connect the sensor connector and secure it to the bracket.



4. Install the pedal on the studs and tighten the nuts to a torque of 25 Nm.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.

6. To check the correct operation of the sensor, use the TestBook/T4 device.
