The crankshaft pulley, via the accessory drive belt, drives the accessory units, which include the vibration damper, alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor and coolant pump.
The maintenance-free poly V-belt is automatically pre-tensioned by tension rollers and runs over the idler pulleys to maintain adequate traction on the drive pulleys, eliminating the possibility of the belt slipping on the accessory pulleys.
