Drive Belt Tensioner 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the viscous fan clutch assembly. For more information, refer to Cooling Fan (26.25.19)

3. Release the accessory drive belt. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.



4. Remove the accessory belt tensioner. Remove the bolt.

Installation

1. When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

• Clean and inspect the drive pulleys for damage.
• Tighten the tensioner bolt (tightening torque 40 Nm).

2. Install the viscous fan clutch assembly. For more information, refer to Cooling Fan (26.25.19)

3. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
