Removal


NOTE: The glow plug assembly is an integral part of the engine control module and is not serviceable as a separate part.


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the 4WD control module. For more information, refer to 4WD Control Module (41.30.01)

NOTE: A car with a right-hand steering wheel arrangement is shown, while a car with a left-hand steering wheel arrangement is performed in reverse order.


Disconnect the 3 glow plug assembly electrical connectors in the order shown. Move the 3 engine wiring harness electrical connectors aside for easy access.

4. Remove the glow plug assembly mounting plate. Remove the 4 mounting bolts.

5. Remove the glow plug assembly. Remove the top cover of the glow plug assembly.

Installation


1. Install the glow plug assembly. Install the glow plug assembly top cover.

2. Install the glow plug assembly mounting plate. Screw in the 4 mounting bolts.

3. Connect the 3 electrical connectors of the glow plug assembly.

4. Install the 4WD control module. For more information, refer to 4WD Control Module (41.30.01)

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

6. Connect T4 to calibrate the new ECM.
