Removal


NOTE: Note: Ignition coils 2, 3, 5 and 6 have wiring harness retaining clips that must be disconnected before removal.


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

3. Disconnect the ignition wire from the coil.

4. Remove the ignition coil.
  • Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
  • Unscrew the nut.
  • Disconnect the ground wire.
  • Loosen the pin completely.
  • Loosen the bolt completely.
Loosen the bolt completely.


Installation


1. Install the parts in place in reverse order.

  • Tighten the bolt (tightening torque 6 Nm).
  • Tighten the stud (tightening torque 6 Nm).
  • Install the ground wire.
  • Tighten the nut (tightening torque 6 Nm).
  • Connect the ignition coil electrical connector.
  • Connect the ignition wire to the coil.
