Ignition coil (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



2. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the ignition coil cover.

3. Remove the cover.

4. Disconnect the high tension wire from the spark plug.



5. Unscrew the 2 coil mounting bolts and remove it from the spark plug.

6. Disconnect the connector from the coil and remove the coil.

7. Disconnect the high voltage wire from the coil.

Installation

1. Connect the high tension wire to the ignition coil.

2. Install the coil, connect the connector and secure the ignition coil to the spark plug.

3. Screw in 2 bolts and tighten them to 8 Nm.

4. Connect the high tension wire to the spark plug and secure the wire in the bracket.



5. Install the ignition coil cover, screw in the mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
