Pedal Position Sensor (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the pedal assembly to the front shield.

2. Disconnect the gas cable from the gas pedal.

3. Disconnect the connector from the pedal position sensor.

4. Remove the gas pedal assembly from the vehicle.



5. Disconnect the sensor from the bracket on the gas pedal.

6. Release the bracket from the fasteners on the gas pedal and remove the bracket.

Installation

1. Install the sensor bracket on the gas pedal and secure it.

2. Place the sensor completely onto the bracket.



3. To check that the sensor position is adjusted correctly, make sure that the protrusion of the gas pedal touches the switch on the sensor when the pedal is fully released.



4. Connect the connector to the pedal position sensor.

5. Connect the throttle cable to the throttle pedal and secure it.

6. Install the gas pedal with the sensor on the studs, tighten the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
