Sensors: Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



3. Release the camshaft position sensor harness connector from the bracket and disconnect the connector.

4. Release the sensor harness from the clamp.

5. Loosen the camshaft position (CMP) sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor.

Installation

1. Wipe the camshaft position (CMP) sensor and mating surfaces.

2. Install the camshaft position (CMP) sensor, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.

3. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector and secure it to the bracket.

4. Install the ignition coil cover, screw in the mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
