To avoid accidental operation, it is necessary to discharge the backup power supply of the SRS control module. After disconnecting the wire (ov) Wait at least one minute before making any repairs or adjustments to the SRS (SRS), or components located near the SRS sensors. To minimize the chance of accidental deployment of airbags, energized airbag modules must be placed on a workbench, which must be grounded and only with a decorative panel covering the airbag up. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
Never touch the tester probes to the electrical connectors of the airbag modules or any other element of the airbag and seat belt system. Failure to do so may result in injury.
Painting the driver airbag module panel cover or instrument panel cover may damage the panel cover and airbags. Never attempt to paint discolored or damaged decorative covers on airbag modules or the instrument panel. Install a new item. Failure to do so may result in injury.
Make sure enough time has elapsed after disconnecting the wire (ov) battery mass before repairing the airbag and seat belt system (SRS). Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

Removing
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).
2. Place the SRS system in safe mode. Refer to Procedure: Standard Techniques Used in a Service Station (100-00 General information, Description and principle of operation).
3. Remove the front seat belt buckle. Refer to Procedure: Front Seat Belt Buckle (501-20A Seat belt system, Removal and installation).
