Front seat back upholstery (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Switch the SRS system to safe mode. For more information, refer to the Standard Techniques used at the service station.

2. Remove the front seat belt buckle. For more information, refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle (76.73.30)

3. Remove the side trim of the front seat cushion.

• Remove 2 screws.
• Release the 3 clamps.

4. Remove the seat back hinge cover.

• Remove 2 screws.
• Release the clamp.

5. Remove the front seat back assembly.

• Release the retaining clips and disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
• Remove 4 Torx head bolts.

6. Remove the front seat handles.

• Remove the bolt covers.
• Remove 2 bolts.

NOTE: The seat head restraint latch is located under the seat back cover.

Remove the front seat head restraint. Remove the front seat head restraint retainer.



8. Remove the front seat armrest.

• Remove the bolt cover.
• Remove the Torx head bolt.

9. Remove the front seatback lumbar adjuster. Pull sharply to release the adjuster from the mechanism.





10. Release the front seat back cover.

• Release 5 clamps.
• Remove the tension bands.

11. Remove the front seat back upholstery. Remove the 3 bent rings.

Installation

1. Install the front seat back cover.

• Install the bent rings.
• Install the clamps.
• Attach the tension straps.

2. Install the lumbar adjuster of the front seat backrest. With a sharp movement, insert the adjuster into the mechanism.

3. Install the front seat armrest.

• Tighten the Torx head bolt (tightening torque 10 Nm).
• Install the bolt cover.

4. Install the front seat headrest.

5. Install the front seat handles.

• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).
• Install the bolt covers.

6. Install the front seat back assembly.

• Tighten the Torx head bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).
• Connect and secure the electrical connectors.

7. Install the seat back hinge cover.

• Tighten the screws.
• Install the clamp.

8. Install the front seat cushion side trim.

• Install and secure the clamps.
• Screw in the screws.

9. Install the front seat belt buckle. For more information, refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle (76.73.30)
