Item name | Spare part number | Description |
1 | - | Seat position memory button |
2 | - | Buttons for pre-setting adjustments |
3 | - | Seat adjustment buttons |
The memory control unit can store up to three sets of positions for the driver's seat, mirror and electrically adjustable steering column (in the presence of) for one ignition key (no more than three keys). Saving adjustments and recalling them from memory is carried out by three numbered buttons and one separate button. The buttons are activated by a short press on them.
Seat adjustment is possible when the ignition key is in position I or II, and also for some time after a change in the state of the driver's door or after turning the ignition switch from position I to position 0 (the key stays in the lock).
NOTE: These positions do not include comfy mode when there is no need to open the door or when the ignition is on (I or II).
The rear-view mirror can only be adjusted if the ignition switch is in position I or II.
Recalling settings from memory
The adjustment recall function has three memory locations for storing adjustments for the seats, exterior mirrors and power steering column (in the presence of). The control buttons for this function are located on the outer trim panel of the driver's seat. Pressing the button with the desired memory address number causes the seat to move to the position corresponding to that address.
To limit the power consumption when calling up adjustments, seat movements are only performed in two directions at the same time. To limit the starting current of the electric motors for movement along each of the axes, a delay of 100 ms is provided between their activation.
First, there is a longitudinal displacement of the seat and a change in the angle of the backrest, and then the seat height and the angle of the seat cushion are adjusted. If the vehicle is stationary, a short press on the button is sufficient to continue the seat adjustment until it reaches the recalled position. If the button is released while the vehicle is moving, the system will enter manual adjustment mode. This means that when the button is released, seat movement stops. Therefore, in order to move the seat to the desired position, the button should not be released until the complete cessation of movement in all coordinates. Successful completion of the operation is confirmed by a double gong on the instrument panel.
To remember the settings, do the following:
- Make sure the ignition key is in position I or II.
- Make sure reverse gear is not engaged.
- Use the switches on the remote to manually adjust the seat
- Press and release the 'memory store' key (preservation)
- Within 5 seconds, press the desired memory address key
If, after calling a position, briefly press any position adjustment switch or other call button (another address), the first call will be canceled and the seat will move according to the new command.
Both rear-view mirrors first rotate simultaneously around the vertical axis (left/right), and after the completion of this movement, the mirrors rotate around the horizontal axis (up down). To reduce the number of mirror adjustment motors, their rotations around two axes are performed sequentially, and not simultaneously.
Mirrors are moved according to the following table.
Actions | Pin 14 of the control module | Pin 7 of the control module | Pin 13 of the control module | Pin 8 of the control module |
Driver's mirror - up | Accumulator battery | - | - | - |
Driver Mirror - Down | "Weight" | - | - | - |
Driver's mirror - left | - | "Weight" | - | - |
Driver's mirror - right | - | Accumulator battery | - | - |
Passenger mirror - up | - | - | Accumulator battery | - |
Passenger mirror - down | - | - | "Weight" | - |
Passenger Mirror - Left | - | - | - | "Weight" |
Passenger Mirror - Right | - | - | - | Accumulator battery |
Function «Lazy Entry» (comfortable fit)
Pressing the door unlock button on the remote control will recall the stored positions. This function is named 'lazy entry' or «boarding for the lazy» (literally) or simply, "comfortable fit". If you press the seat adjustment switch, any memory key, or the remote control's door lock button, the Easy Entry function will stop immediately.
The current settings of the seats and mirrors are written to the EEPROM of the memory controller each time the ignition switch is turned from position II to position I. It is these adjustments that are restored the next time the Comfort Entry function is activated by pressing the unlock button on the remote control.
The Easy Fit feature can be turned on or off using the custom settings menu on the instrument cluster. Thus, the driver decides for himself whether to use this function or not. For more information, please refer to the Information and Message Center (413-08 Information and Message Center)
Immediate Adjustment
When either of the manual seat adjustment switches is pressed, the motor will adjust in that direction until the switch is released.
Only two seat adjustment motors can operate at the same time. However, the connection of motors to the relay does not allow certain combinations of motors to operate simultaneously. The table shows which motors can be switched on at the same time and which cannot.

Button
- - = impossible combination
- Yes - movements can be performed simultaneously
- No = movements cannot be performed at the same time (physically impossible)
- No* = cannot be turned on at the same time (relay sharing restriction)
The seat adjustment can be activated at the same time as the door mirror adjustment.
Sound and visual confirmation of the end of the operation
An audible signal issued by the instrument panel notifies the driver of the successful completion of the required operation. The following are the operations, the execution of which is accompanied by an audible confirmation:
Operation | Audible confirmation | Name |
Memory write | One gong | Successfully storing settings in memory |
Recalling settings from memory | Double chime | The signal is given only when the movement to the called position is successful |
Recording mirror positions when reversing | One gong | Location recording completed successfully |
In addition to the audible signal, a confirmation message is displayed on the instrument cluster information center display. For more information, please refer to the Information and Message Center (413-08 Information and Message Center)
Diagnostic mode
The exchange of information between the diagnostic unit and the memory controller occurs through the CJB unit via the high-speed CAN bus and LIN bus. Detected errors are stored in non-volatile EEPROM memory. The contents of the memory are not lost when the power is turned off. Only a diagnostic system approved by Land Rover can erase the contents of the memory.
