Removal


CAUTION: Before performing any work on the SRS system, read the relevant information carefully.


CAUTION: Always disconnect the battery before working on the SRS system. Disconnect the ground cable first. Never connect the battery with the polarity reversed.


1. Set the SRS system to fail-safe mode. For more information, refer to Standard Workshop Techniques

2.
NOTE: Torx head bolts can be reused.


Release the front seat fastening.
  • Remove the bolt covers.
  • Remove 5 Torx head bolts.
Remove 5 Torx head bolts.


3. Release the lower seat belt anchor from the seat.
  • Remove the bolt cover.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector on the passenger side.
  • Remove and discard the Torx head bolt.
Remove and discard the Torx head bolt.


4. With assistance, remove the front seat.


  • Install panel protection.
  • Remove the bolt.
  • Disconnect the two electrical connectors.
  • Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
Release the 2 wiring harness clips.


Installation


1. Install the front seat with assistance.
  • Connect the electrical connectors.
  • Secure the wiring harness clamps.
2. Attach the lower seat belt anchor to the seat.
  • Tighten the new Torx head bolt (tightening torque 40 Nm).
  • Connect the electrical connector on the passenger side.
  • Install the bolt cover.
3. Secure the front seat.
  • Tighten the Torx head bolts (tightening torque 40 Nm).
  • Install the bolt covers.
4. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
