The windshield wiper motor drives a pinion through a worm gear connected to the motor output shaft. The pinion has a central hub that serves to connect the crank to the pinion. The crank is attached directly to the wiper linkage rods and secured with a single nut. The assembled motor and wiper linkage are a single element and are subject to removal or replacement as a single unit.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Windscreen wiper motor (501-16 Windscreen wipers and washers, Removal and installation).
The motor assembly is connected to the vehicle's electrical system via a 4-pin electrical connector. The electrical connector has two battery power contacts from the BJB, a wiper park position contact from the CJB, and a ground for the motor assembly.
