Each axle shaft consists of a solid steel shaft with inner and outer constant velocity joints. The inner joint is of the tripod type with a spherical bushing to reduce sliding resistance; the shaft and the inner joint are a single unit.
The outer ball joint has a splined connection to the shaft. The joints are filled with consistent grease and protected by covers.
The axle shafts are of equal length to eliminate steering wheel reactions when turning.
