General information
The front drive shafts are not interchangeable - the right drive shaft is longer than the left. Both shafts have similar designs, with constant velocity joints (CV joints) on each side providing steering and suspension functions.

The front drive shafts are similar in design. The only difference is the length of the shafts: the left drive shaft is longer.
A setting disk is mounted on the outside of the outer CV joints. It is used by the wheel speed sensor to determine the speed of the wheel and the vehicle.
Each drive shaft consists of 2 CV joints (internal and external), boots, an outer tube and a solid rod that is held in the front differential by a snap ring (see the Axle Joint section for more information on CV joints).
