Removal
1.
CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the half shaft. For more information, refer to Front Left Drive Shaft (47.10.01)
4. Clamp the axle shaft in a vice.
5. Remove the CV joint boot mounting clamps and discard them.

6. Slide the CV joint boot along the axle shaft to gain access to the joint.

7. Using a drift against the inner part of the CV joint, remove the CV joint from the axle shaft. Remove the spring ring and discard it.

8. Remove the inner hinge protective cover.
Installation
1. Clean the parts.
2. Install the inner hinge protective cover.
3. Install the inner hinge.
- Install a new snap ring.
- Install the CV joint on the axle shaft, install the retaining ring in the corresponding groove, and put the CV joint on the axle shaft completely.
- Pull on the CV joint to ensure the snap ring is fully seated.
4. Fill the joint with the supplied grease.
5. Put a protective cover on the CV joint. Secure with new clamps.
6. Install the half shaft. For more information, refer to Front Left Drive Shaft (47.10.01)
7. Install the wheel. Tighten the wheel nuts. (tightening torque 140 Nm).
