Capacitor (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Remove the cover and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

3. Remove the charge air cooler. Refer to procedure: Charge Air Cooler (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and Filtration - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the procedure: Refrigerant Recovery, Evacuation, and Charging of the Air Conditioning (A/C) System (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, General Procedures).

5. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the air conditioner condenser.

CAUTION: Plug all openings.

NOTE: Remove and discard O-rings.

6. Remove the A/C condenser.

Installation

1. Install the A/C condenser and tighten the bolt. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

2. Connect the A/C condenser refrigerant lines and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

CAUTION: Observe absolute cleanliness when handling these items.

NOTE: Lubricate the O-rings with clean compressor oil.

3. Install the charge air cooler. Refer to procedure: Charge Air Cooler (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and Filtration - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

4. Recharge the air conditioner. Refer to the procedure: Refrigerant Recovery, Evacuation, and Charging of the Air Conditioning (A/C) System (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, General Procedures).

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery and install the cover. Refer to the procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
