Capacitor — removal and installation (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Discharge the air conditioning system.

3. Remove the front radiator grille.

4. Remove the battery.

5. Remove the radiator and oil coolers.

5. Remove the radiator and oil coolers.


6. Disconnect the high and low pressure pipes from the condenser.

7. Remove the sealing rings.

8. Unscrew the 2 capacitor mounting bolts.

8. Unscrew the 2 capacitor mounting bolts.


9. Remove the capacitor.

10. Disconnect the fan connectors.

11. Remove the capacitor and plug the fittings.

12. Disconnect the receiver-drier tubes from the condenser.

13. Remove the side clip securing the tubes.

14. Remove the left tube from the condenser and discard the sealing ring.

15. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the receiver-dryer bracket.

16. Disconnect the lower tube fastening clips and remove the receiver-dryer.



16. Disconnect the lower tube fastening clips and remove the receiver-dryer.


17. Remove and discard the right tube sealing ring.

18. Unscrew the lower fan mounting screws.

19. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the lower condenser bracket and remove the bracket.

20. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the upper bracket.

21. Remove the top brackets and fans.

22. Loosen the side bracket mounting bolts and remove the brackets.

23. Transfer the removed parts to the new capacitor.

24. Pour 40 ml of compressor oil into the new condenser.

25. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
