Heater-air conditioner unit (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Drain the coolant.

3. Discharge the air conditioning system.

4. Remove the front panel.



5. Disconnect the heater hoses from the engine cooling system pipes.

6. Disconnect the low pressure tube from the evaporator.

7. Unscrew the bolt securing the high and low pressure tube support clip.



8. Disconnect the high pressure tube from the evaporator.

9. Discard the rubber sealing rings.

10. Disconnect the three heater fan unit wiring connectors, remove the three mounting screws and remove the fan unit.



11. Unscrew the 5 screws securing the heater to the body.



12. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the front support bracket of the center console, remove the bracket.

13. Disconnect the two drain hoses.

14. Remove the heater unit.

15. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
