Rear air conditioner expansion valve (Discovery 1)

1. Remove the evaporator with fan.

2. Remove the expansion valve insulator and sensing element.

2. Remove the expansion valve insulator and sensing element.


3. Disconnect the clip securing the sensitive element.

4. Loosen the nut securing the tubes to the valve and hold the valve with a second wrench.

5. Disconnect the tubes and discard the sealing rings.

6. Plug the holes of the pipes and valve.

7. Remove the valve.

Installation



8. Attach the valve sensing element to the evaporator.

9. Remove all plugs.

10. Lubricate new O-rings with compression oil.

11. Tighten the delivery pipe mounting nut on the valve to a torque of 14 Nm.

12. Tighten the evaporator tube mounting nut to the valve to 22 Nm.

13. Remove the protective tape from the new insulator.

14. Glue the insulator on the valve and the sensing element.

15. Reinstall the removed parts.
