Rear evaporator and fan (Discovery 1)

1. Discharge the air conditioning system.

2. Remove the evaporator from the upper ceiling light duct.

3. Remove the rear left mudguard.

4. Remove any dirt from the air conditioning system tube connection area in the rear wheel arch.



5. Unscrew the nuts securing the tubes (use two keys), plug the holes.

6. Discard the sealing rings.



7. Loosen the nut securing the rear folding seat frame to the wheel arch.

8. Remove the 5 screws securing the rear folding seat frame.

Note: The bolt nuts are located in the wheel arch

.

9. Remove the rear folding seat frame.

10. Disconnect the two rear air conditioner wiring connectors.

11. Remove the 3 rear evaporator mounting bolts.

12. Release the evaporator tubes from the rubber bushings in the body.



13. Remove the rear evaporator assembly with the fan.

14. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Install new O-rings.

Tightening torques

• seat frame fastenings - 25 Nm
• high pressure tubes - 14 Nm
• low pressure tubes - 25 Nm
