Inspection and testing of the fuel system (Freelander 2)

CAUTION: Diagnostics by substituting an element from another vehicle is NOT permitted. Substituting control units does not guarantee confirmation of the fault and, in addition, may cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or in the vehicle from which the units are removed.

1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

2. If an obvious cause for the problem you have identified or the customer has described is found, correct it (if possible) before proceeding further.

3. If the cause is not visually obvious, check the symptom of the malfunction and contact table of signs of malfunction or check for DTCs and refer to the Index diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).
