Exhaust gas recirculation valve 4.4 L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.

3. Release the clamps and disconnect the hoses from the EGR valve cooler.

• Place an absorbent cloth to absorb any spilled liquid.
• Clamp the EGR coolant hoses to minimize coolant loss.

4. Remove the EGR valve. Remove the 2 bolts from the EGR cooler valve housing.

Installation

1. When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).

2. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

3. Check the coolant level and top up if necessary.
