Rear console — removal and installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the rear ashtray from the rear console, disconnect the electrical connector from the electrical outlet, and remove the ashtray.



2. Remove the mat from the niche, lift the lid and remove the small items storage compartment liner.



3. Remove the 2 screws securing the rear part of the console.



4. Remove the plug and unscrew the 2 screws securing the front part of the console.



5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power window switches and the rear window switch, if equipped.



6. Loosen the clamp securing the electrical cable to the center console.

7. Remove the rear console.



8. Remove the switches from the rear console.

Installation

1. Install the switches on the console.

2. Attach the console and connect the electrical connectors.

3. Install the electrical cable clamp to the center console.

4. Align the console, tighten the screws that secure it and replace the plug.

5. Insert the small item storage compartment liner and place the mat in the niche.

6. Install the rear ashtray, connect the electrical connector and secure the ashtray to the center console.
