Lower decorative panel of the luggage compartment of a 5-door car (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Release the rear seat backrest and tilt the seat forward.

2. Remove the Torx bolt from the lower rear seat belt mounting point to the body and move the belt to the side.

3. Remove the luggage compartment light from the trim panel.

4. Disconnect the 2 Lucar type electrical connectors and remove the luggage compartment light.

5. Remove the 2 screws securing the decorative panel to the luggage compartment floor covering mounting strip.

6. Unscrew the 4 screws securing the decorative panel.

7. Release the decorative panel from the 5 fasteners.

8. Remove the side decorative panel of the luggage compartment.



9. Remove the 5 fasteners from the trim panel.

Installation

1. Insert the clips into the decorative panel.

2. Install the decorative panel into the luggage compartment and secure it with the clips.

3. Install the screw clamps.

4. Tighten the screws securing the decorative panel to the floor covering mounting strip.

5. Attach the luggage compartment light to the decorative panel, connect the Lucar type electrical connectors and secure the light to the decorative panel.

6. Install the luggage compartment cover retainer and secure it with the screw.

7. Install the luggage compartment cover and secure it to the clips.

8. Install the rear seat belt and tighten its mounting bolt to a torque of 40 Nm.

9. Return the rear seat to its place.
