Contact sensor for first gear engagement GETRAG (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower engine guard.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Lower engine protection shield.

3. Disconnect the connector from the first gear engagement contact sensor.

4. Place a container to collect the oil.

5. Remove the sensor.

Installation

1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the first gear contact sensor, screw in the sensor and tighten it to a torque of 24 Nm.

2. Remove the container from under the gearbox.

3. Connect the connector to the first gear engagement contact sensor.

4. Check the transmission oil level in the gearbox and top up if necessary.

5. Reinstall the lower engine guard.

6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
