All seats are equipped with 3-point seat belts. Each seat belt has a retractor mechanism for emergency locking.

The emergency locking retractor mechanism is equipped with a lift shaft locking system with a belt web sensor and sensitive actuators. The belt web sensor activates the locking mechanism if the belt web is subjected to a sharp jerk. The vehicle sensor activates the locking system if the vehicle decelerates suddenly or tilts at a sharp angle.

All emergency locking retractors on the 1st row (driver and passenger) seats have an electrically powered belt tension release device for comfort. This device is activated when ignition mode 6 is activated and the seat belt is fastened.

All emergency locking retractor mechanisms on the 2nd row passenger seats and the front passenger seat in NAS vehicles are supplemented with automatic locking retractor mechanisms.



The automatic locking retractor mechanism allows the belt webbing to be pulled out with the ratchet mechanism. This device ensures that the belt webbing is firmly fixed, making it easier to install the child seat. When the belt webbing is tensioned in the automatic locking retractor mode, the seat belt is locked.

The seat belt reminder in the instrument cluster reminds the driver and front passenger to fasten their seat belts. On North American specification (NAS) vehicles, when the ignition is in auxiliary/accessory mode, the reminder comes on if the seat belt of the occupied front seat is not fastened. The reminder remains on until all front seat occupants have fastened their seat belts or until the ignition is turned off. In all markets except NAS, the seat belt reminder function provides a more visual reminder.
