Four oil jets are mounted on the left side of the cylinder block, under each cylinder. The jet body is mounted directly in the main oil gallery. Oil is sprayed under pressure under each piston to lubricate the cylinder walls and piston pin and to cool the piston crown. When the sprayed oil comes into contact with the underside of the piston, the oil collects and flows around two cooling channels, cooling the piston crown.
A valve installed in the oil nozzle body blocks oil spraying before the pressure in the lubrication system exceeds 0.5 bar.
