Starter control module (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Using the Land Rover recommended diagnostic system, check the launch control module and download the stored data.

NOTE: This step should be performed if the launch control module is replaced.

NOTE: When performing this procedure, have all keys (remote controls) ready.

2. Secure the SRS system. Refer to the procedure: Standard Workshop Procedure (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

3. Remove the driver lower airbag. Refer to procedure: Driver Lower Airbag Module (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the decorative cover of the starting control unit.



5. Remove the instrument panel frame.



6. Remove the lower steering column cover.





7. Move the steering column to its lowest position.





9. Remove the launch control unit.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
