Several information messages have been added to notify the driver about the status of the Stop/Start system.

The instrument cluster receives information from the ECM via the CJB via the medium speed CAN (data link protocol) bus. The CJB generates this information based on medium and high speed CAN bus inputs and hardwired inputs from various vehicle control modules. Software in the instrument cluster converts the data from the CJB into on-screen messages for the driver.

System messages "Stop/Start"

ECO STOP/START OFF (Stop/Start system is off)The indicator in the "Eco" button went out.The "Eco" button is pressed.If necessary, press the "Eco" button to reactivate the "Stop/Start" system.
ECO STOP/START UNAVAILABLE (Stop/Start system unavailable)The indicator in the "Eco" button went out.HDC (Hill Descent Control) or TR system is in operation (Terrain Response).If road conditions permit, turn off the HDC or TR system.
SELECT NEUTRAL TO RESTARTNoThe engine is turned off in the Stop/Start cycle, the driver has engaged the gear without pressing the clutch pedal.Press the clutch pedal and engage neutral gear.
RESTART REQUIRED PRESS CLUTCHNoIf an engine restart is required during a Stop/Start cycle, but the driver's location is unknown. The driver's door is open or the driver's seat belt is not fastened.Press the clutch pedal.
ECO STOP/START FAULT (Starting the Stop/Start system using the ECO button does not work)The indicator in the "Eco" button went out.The Stop/Start system is unavailable due to a system or subsystem failure.Connect diagnostic equipment recommended by Land Rover to diagnose the fault.



NOTE: The message "Put the transmission in neutral to restart" may be displayed on the screen if the driver's hand is on the shift lever and the hand pressure is sufficient to move the transmission out of neutral without engaging a gear.


NOTE: If after an unsuccessful automatic restart attempt the driver is prompted to restart the engine, for example by pressing the clutch pedal. This action must be completed within 50 seconds, otherwise the Stop/Start system will be disengaged and a normal engine start will be required.
