Water pump (Discovery 1)

1. Drain the coolant.

2. Remove the fan together with the coupling.

3. Disconnect the water pump inlet hose.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the pump to the block.

5. Remove the pump.



6. Lightly coat the new bolt washers with grease.

7. Clean the threads of the long pump mounting bolts and apply Loctite 577 thread sealant to the threads.

8. Install the pump in place and tighten the mounting bolts to 28 Nm.

9. Reinstall the removed parts.
