Viscous coupling, fan, pulley and fan diffuser (Discovery 1)

For removal and installation you will need special keys LRT-12-093 and LRT-12-094.

1. Disconnect the battery.



Note: On the 4.0 V8 engine, disconnect the water hose from the top of the fan diffuser.

2. Unfasten the clips securing the upper part of the diffuser and remove the diffuser.

3. Use the LRT-12-093 key to secure the water pump pulley and use the LRT-12-094 key to loosen the viscous coupling (ATTENTION: RIGHT-HAND THREAD!).



4. Remove the fan together with the coupling.

Further operations are carried out as necessary.

5. Unscrew the four fan mounting bolts and remove the fan from the coupling.

6. Remove the accessory drive belt.



7. Loosen the water pump pulley mounting bolts and remove the pulley.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tightening torque of the viscous coupling nut is 56 Nm.
