Caution: Do not open the cooling system caps when the engine is hot.


1. Carefully remove the expansion tank cap, relieve residual fluid pressure in the system.

Note: It is not possible to completely drain the fluid from the interior heating system. It is not advisable to completely remove liquid from the heating system.


4. Unscrew the block drain plugs (in both half-blocks below the exhaust manifolds). After draining the liquid, tighten the plugs.

5. Slowly pour coolant into the expansion tank until the radiator is full.

6. Start and warm up the engine to operating temperature. Add coolant until the radiator is full.

7. Reinstall the radiator drain plug with a new sealing ring. Tighten the plug to 6 Nm.

8. Install the expansion tank cap.

9. After the engine has cooled down, check the coolant level and add liquid up to the joint between the halves of the expansion tank.
