Removing
1.
WARNING: Do not work on or under the vehicle if it is only supported by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the radiator panel. Turn out 4 bolts.
3. Remove the mudguard of the right front fender. Remove 4 clips.
4. Remove the left front mudguard. Remove 4 clips.

NOTE: Make sure the steering system is installed straight ahead.
Disconnect the cardan joint from the steering mechanism. Loosen the bolt and discard it.

NOTE: Left side shown, right side similar.
Disconnect both ball joints of the tie rod ends.
- Loosen the lock nut.
- Disconnect both tie rods from the tips, note the number of turns for installation.
7. Disconnect the high pressure lines from the power steering mechanism.
- Turn out a bolt.
- Lay down an absorbent cloth to soak up spilled liquid.
- Remove and discard o-rings.
8. Remove the high pressure steering line. Turn out a bolt.
9. Remove the steering gear.
- Remove 2 bolts and discard castle nuts.
- With assistance, carefully turn and remove the steering gear.
Installation
1. With assistance, install the steering gear.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 175 Nm).

NOTE: Do not install the support bracket bolt until the steering gear connections are tight.
Install the steering high pressure line.

NOTE: Lubricate the seals with clean power steering fluid.
Connect the steering gear high pressure lines.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Install new o-rings.
4. Install the power steering line support bracket. Tighten the bolt with a torque of 10 Nm.
5. Attach the ball joints of the tie rod ends.
- Connect both tie rods as previously noted.
- Tighten the lock nut on the tie rod.
6. Attach the universal joint to the steering gear. Screw in a new self-locking bolt and tighten to 25 Nm.
7. Install the radiator panel. Screw in 4 bolts and tighten them with a torque of 10 Nm.
8. Install the left front mudguard.
9. Install the right front fender mudguard.
10. Refill power steering fluid and bleed air from system. For more information, refer to Filling and Bleeding the Power Steering System.
11. Adjust the angles of the front wheels.
