Removing
1.
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Be sure to place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the radiator access panel. Turn out four bolts.
3. Remove the right front mudguard. Remove four clips.
4. Remove the left front mudguard. Remove four clips.

NOTE: Set steering to straight ahead.
Disconnect the cardan joint from the steering mechanism. Loosen the bolt and discard it.

NOTE: Left side shown, right side similar.
Release the ball joints on both tie rod ends.
- Loosen the locknut.
- Disconnect both tie rods from the tips, note the number of turns for installation.

CAUTION: Plug all open connections to avoid contamination of the system.
Disconnect the high pressure line from the power steering pump.
- Turn out a hollow bolt of union connection.
- Allow the liquid to drain into the container.
- Remove seals and discard.

CAUTION: Plug all open connections to avoid contamination of the system.
NOTE: Under no circumstances should the low pressure hose be removed from the steering pump.
Disconnect the low pressure line from the power steering pump.
- Release the clamp.
- Release the power steering pump line.
9. Disconnect the pressure lines from the steering gear.
- Turn out a bolt.
- Place an absorbent cloth to catch any spilled liquid.
- Remove the o-rings and discard them.
10. Remove the high pressure steering line. Turn out a bolt.
11. Remove the steering gear.
- Remove two bolts and discard nuts.
- With assistance, carefully turn and remove the steering gear.
Installation
1. With assistance, install the steering gear.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
- Tighten the bolts to 175 Nm.

NOTE: Do not install the support bracket bolt until the connections on the steering gear are tight.
Install the steering high pressure line.

NOTE: Lubricate seals with clean power steering fluid.
Connect the steering pressure lines.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
- Install new o-rings.
4. Connect the low pressure line to the power steering pump.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
- Secure with a clamp.
5. Connect the high pressure line to the power steering pump.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
- Install new seals.
- Connect spigot type "banjo" and tighten to 22 Nm.
6. Install the power steering line support bracket. Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm.
7. Connect the ball joints of the tie rod ends.
- Connect both tie rods as previously noted.
- Tighten the locknut on the tie rod.
8. Attach the universal joint to the steering gear. Screw in a new self-locking bolt and tighten to 25 Nm.
9. Install the radiator access panel. Screw in the four bolts and tighten them to 10 Nm.
10. Install the left front mudguard.
11. Install the right front mudguard.
12. Add power steering fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. For more information, refer to Filling and Bleeding the Power Steering System.
13. Adjust those angles of installation of forward wheels.
