Steering wheel angle sensor (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the trim panel from the driver's side.

• Release the clamp.
• Remove two screws.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Disconnect the steering wheel angle sensor electrical connector.



4. Disconnect the steering column intermediate shaft from the steering column.

• Remember the position in which the part was installed.
• Unscrew the special bolt and discard the nut.

5. Remove the steering wheel angle sensor. Remove the 3 Torx head screws.

Installation

1. Install the steering wheel angle sensor. Tighten the Torx head screws (tightening torque 3 Nm).

2. Attach the intermediate shaft of the steering column. Insert the special bolt and screw on the nut (tightening torque 22 Nm).

3. Connect the steering wheel angle sensor electrical connector.

4. Install the trim panel.

• Connect the electrical connector.
• Secure the clamp.
• Tighten the screws.

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

6. Using T4, initialize the new steering wheel angle sensor.
