Transfer case clutch solenoid (Discovery 3)

Removal

1.

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2.

CAUTION: Before removing the solenoid, connect T4.

NOTE: Some liquid will inevitably spill during this operation.

Remove the transfer case clutch control solenoid.

• Place a container to collect any spilled liquid.
• Remove 3 Torx head screws.
• Using T4, apply voltage to the solenoid.
• Disconnect from the selector lever.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Make sure the seal is installed correctly.

Install the transfer case clutch control solenoid.

• Clean the parts.
• Connect the electrical connector.
• Using T4, apply voltage to the solenoid.
• Install on the selector lever.
• Tighten the Torx head screws (tightening torque 10 Nm).

2. Check the transfer case transmission fluid level and top up if necessary.

3. Using T4, calibrate the new transfer case clutch control solenoid.
