Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve 4.0L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or disassembling parts, make sure the area around mating surfaces and connections is clean. To avoid contamination of the system, cover all open connections.

Remove the intake manifold adjusting valve.

• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Remove 2 bolts.
• Discard the O-ring.

Installation

1. Install the intake manifold adjusting valve.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Install a new O-ring.
• Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

2. Connect the electrical connector.

3. Install the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

4. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
