Special tool


Heated Oxygen Sensor Key 310-121 (LRT-19-014)

Removal


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2.
CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.


Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Remove the exhaust system. For more information, refer to Exhaust System (10/30/08)

4. Remove the catalytic converter. Loosen the nut and loosen the clamp.

5.
NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the part is removed only for access.

Using the special tool, remove both heated oxygen sensors from the catalytic converter.

Installation


1.
CAUTION: Avoid contact of anti-seize compound with the tip of the heated oxygen sensor.


Using the special tool, install the heated oxygen sensor onto the catalytic converter and tighten. (tightening torque 45 Nm).
  • Clean the parts.
  • Apply anti-seize compound to the threaded portion of the heated oxygen sensor.
2.
NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp at this stage.


Connect the catalytic converter to the front muffler.
  • Clean the parts.
  • Screw on the nut.
3. Install the exhaust system. For more information, refer to Exhaust System (10/30/08)

4. Tighten the catalytic converter clamp. (tightening torque 55 Nm).

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
