Removal the front door assembly to provide access to other components (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the screw and 5 Torx screws from the carpet mounting strip and remove the strip.



2. Release and disconnect the electrical connectors at the bottom of the front 'A' pillar.

3. Release the wiring harness boot from its mounting on the A-pillar and route the door wiring harness through the pillar.

4. Remove the pin from the door stop and detach the stop from the front 'A' pillar.

5. Discard the pin.

6. Remove 2 clips from the door hinges.

7. With the help of a partner, lift and remove the door.

Assembly

1. With the help of a partner, place the door on the hinges.

2. Install the clamps on the hinges.

3. Attach the door stop to the A-pillar and secure it with a new pin.

4. Pass the door wiring harness through the A-pillar and secure the boot in place.

5. Connect and secure the electrical connectors at the bottom of the front 'A' pillar.

6. Install the carpet mounting strip. Secure it with Torx screws and a self-tapping screw.

7. Check that the door is installed correctly.
