Spare wheel mounting bracket (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Lower the tailgate glass.



2. Remove the 3 screws securing the high brake light bracket to the spare wheel support bracket.

3. Disconnect the connector and remove the lamp.



4. Unscrew the 3 nuts securing the spare wheel to the support bracket.

5. Remove the spare tire from the support bracket.



6. Remove the 6 Torx screws and 2 nuts securing the support bracket to the tailgate.



7. Remove the support bracket.

Installation

1. Install the spare wheel support bracket to the tailgate and tighten the bolts to 13 Nm.

2. Tighten the support bracket mounting nuts to a torque of 25 Nm.

3. Attach the brake light and connect the electrical connector.

4. Install the brake light and secure it with screws.

5. Replace the spare wheel and tighten the nuts to 45 Nm.

6. Raise the tailgate glass.
