Hood — removal and installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Install the hood support to hold the hood in the raised position.

2. Cover the fenders with protective covers. If you are installing the hood later, mark the location of the hinges on the hood.



3. Disconnect the windshield washer pipe at the elbow joint.

4. With the help of a partner, unscrew the bolts securing the hinges to the hood and remove the hood.

Installation

1. With the help of a partner, install the hood on the hinges. Screw in and lightly tighten the remaining mounting screws.

2. Connect the windshield washer tube.

3. Close the hood. Check the fit of the hood to the front fenders. Make sure that the gaps between the hood and fenders are equal. If necessary, adjust the hood to achieve proper fit and/or equal gaps.

4. Finally tighten the hinge mounting bolts to a torque of 9 Nm.
