Rubber pads of the anti-roll bar (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Raise the front of the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.

2. Unscrew the 4 bolts securing the rubber-metal bearings of the stabilizer bar to the subframe. Do not throw away the bearings.

3. Remove the anti-roll bar cushions.

Installation

1. Clean the stabilizer bar, bar supports and their mounting surfaces.

2. Install the anti-roll bar cushions.

3. Install the rubber-metal stabilizer bar supports, screw on the support mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 23 Nm.

4. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
