Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always install safety props.
3. Remove the front wheel.
4. Remove the drive shaft.
DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORKS, Rear shaft with external and internal hinges.
5. Install the drive shaft in a vise.
6. Remove both protective boot clamps and discard the clamps.
7. Slide the protective boot over the shaft to access the pivot.
8. By hitting the mandrel on the inside of the hinge, remove the hinge from the shaft.
9. Check the cover for damage and replace if necessary.
10. Remove and discard the drive shaft retaining ring.
Installation
1. Wipe the drive shaft and protective boot.
2. Install a new retaining ring on the end of the drive shaft.
3. Install the outer CV joint on the shaft, use a screwdriver to insert the retaining ring into the groove of the joint and slide the joint completely onto the shaft.
4. Lubricate the hinge with grease from the tube.
5. Place boot on hinge and use tool LRT-99-019 to install two new clamps.
6. Reinstall the drive shaft.
DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORKS, Rear shaft with external and internal hinges.
7. Replace the wheel (wheels) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
8. Remove props and lower the car.
9. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
