Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always install safety props.
3. Remove the front wheel.
4. Loosen the hub nut on the outer pivot housing.
5. With the help of a partner holding the brake pedal depressed, unscrew and discard the nut.
6. Remove the nut and bolt securing the trailing link to the rear hub, and keep the spacer bushing on the headrest of the bolt.
7. Turn away a bolt and a nut of fastening of cross-section draft to a stretcher. Remove shock absorber.
8. Turn away a bolt and a nut of fastening of cross adjusting draft to a subframe.
9. Install a container to collect the escaping oil.
10. With the help of a partner, slide the hub outward and remove the outer hinge from the hub.
11. Being careful not to damage the oil flinger, disconnect the inner joint from the differential using tool LRT-51-014 and remove the drive shaft.
12. Remove and discard the drive shaft retaining ring.
Installation
1. Check the condition of the differential seal and replace it if it is damaged or worn.
2. Wipe the ends of the drive shaft and its mounting locations in the hub and differential.
3. Lubricate the seal lips with gear oil.
4. Install a new circlip on the end of the drive shaft.
5. Insert the shaft into the differential and slide it fully into place.
CAUTION: Push down on the drive shaft to make sure the retaining ring is seated in its groove and holds the shaft.
6. Using a partner, insert the shaft into the hub.
7. Fit the driveshaft mounting nut, but do not fully tighten them at this stage.
8. Install the shock absorber and bolt with nut on the adjusting cross rod, tighten them to a torque of 120 Nm.
CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened when the weight of the vehicle is supported by the suspension.
9. Install a bolt with a nut on the transverse link, tighten them to a torque of 120 Nm.
10. Install the distance sleeve, bolt with nut on the longitudinal rod, tighten them with a torque of 120 Nm.
11. Fit a new drive shaft nut and tighten to 400 Nm. Lock the nut on the end of the drive shaft.
12. Check the oil level in the differential and top up if necessary.
MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, Rear Axle.
13. Replace the wheel (wheels) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
14. Remove props and lower the car.
15. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
